sinTion’s history began in 1995, when a local researcher at the Graz University of Technology (Austria) was looking for a partner to turn his invention, a combined steam/microwave unit, into an industrial product. From the very beginning, the intention was to make it possible to re-use valuable medical items that were otherwise limited to a single use – but the device had, until 2022, been used exclusively for treating infectious waste in laboratories and hospitals. During the Corona crisis, a successive generation of sinTion has facilitated the treatment of valuable protective and single-use equipment.
